Australian Eucalyptus Oil – A Review and Giveaway
At the end of last year I visited a friend in Armidale which is about 5 hours drive from Sydney (or about an hour flying). On our way to see friends in Tamworth – the Country Music Capital of Australia – we saw signs to a Eucalyptus farm. A few kilometres up a bumpy dirt road we found the gorgeous little shop and cafe, selling eucalyptus oil from the property “Banalasta” (the land of healthy waterholes). They are growing quickly and increasing their wholesale business to the USA, as well as supplying the Australian public through online sales and sale on the property. They are a certified organic farming business.
The lovely people gave me a quick look around out the back, where they actually store the leaves and distill the oil. Here are a few pics:
Here you can see fresh eucalyptus leaves (Eucalyptus radiata) harvested off the property, from living trees (that continue to live). The scent was absolutely divine!
The massive vats used for distilling the oil:
The receptacle that collects the essential oil:
Glass measuring and testing equipment to assess each batch:
At Banalasta they also grow and distill lavender (Lavandula Intermedia grosso):
The Oil: Eucalyptus radiata certified organic
The Scent: A sweet and soft eucalyptus, almost like you are eating a eucalyptus candy. Within the scent I can detect mild camphorous tones and the poetic sense of the Australian bush.
The Verdict: A must have for all scent enthusiasts
To Win:
Please comment via the little thought bubble at the top of the blog and tell my why you’d LOVE this little bottle of Aussie goodness. The winner will be chosen through random.org on the 20th May 2015.
Thanks so much! You can support local organic farmers by buying direct from Banalasta here: http://www.banalasta.com.au/Essential-Oils-p-1-c-252.html
Check out my YouTube channel too, thanks.
This would be a lovely addition to my growing collection of essential oils from around the world.
Yes it would be. It’s really soft and and lovely. How many oils do you have ?
Eucalyptus Radiata is my current favorite oil. AMAZING for therapeutic uses on skin and to address respiratory concerns. Also sends me right to a happy place aromatically, in contrast to the more common eucalyptus globulus. I would be so excited to own a certified organic version from a source who lets you take pictures of their processing methods!!! Too many companies are purchasing their oils from somewhere else and cannot prove the source in a way that makes me comfortable.
Excellent comment good luck! I prefer radiate to globulus too and this one is really sweet and soft. Thanks
Eucalyptus….A pure aroma that brings it all back. The smell of the bush when we were children….lots of happy memories.Mum would always reach for it when we had a cough or cold and the one featuring here is the most natural.I hear that Banalasta has a huge American market for these products.
Thanks Bramm it’s a beautiful oil good luck!
This oil looks amazing! I use eucalyptus essential oil almost daily due to my a bit curved nasal septum, it helps with my breathing and blocked nose. I always sniff it before bed time so I can breathe freely. Would love to have a bottle of this pure goodness!
Yay! Thanks for commenting please feel free to share this with your followers and friends. Good luck!

I am just learning about essential oils, I have bought a few my favorite diffusing lavender, peppermint and lemon. I would love to win this and make a diy vapor rub with coconut oil and peppermint!
Thanks Holly your collection is growing! Good luck
I’ve recently been experimenting with essential oils and Eucalyptus was one of the first oils recommended. I would love to use this oil to aid in some respiratory issues, but also in the last year due to illness my hair has been dealing with some major issues and a friend recommended Eucalyptus because it improves elasticity and the integrity of the hair fiber. This is such a wonderful giveaway that came a such a great time.
Thanks Julianna I would also recommend a mild dilution of Rosemary oil in olive oil for your scalp to promote hair loss. Good luck in the competition!
I used to work for this company in the early 2000’s and I loved it……The oil is truly amazing I still have it and use it for many many things.
Fantastic Danielle! What do you do for work now? Good luck!
My comment didn’t go thru, so I will try it again.
