OOOOOOOO yeah its equinox time! This March Equinox means cooler temperatures for us in the southern hemisphere, and warmer times for you up north. Equatorial people just get a little hint of a change, but this may change in years to come with global temperatures changing and wacky things happening in the atmosphere.

“an equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is neither away or towards the Sun. At this time, the center of the Sun is in the plane of the Earth’s equator. What happens as a result is that the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere. The word equinox is translated in Latin to mean “equal night” because during an equinox the day and night will be at equal length.

The Spring Equinox begins on March 21 and marks the start of the new astrological year in the tropical zodiac since the Sun will enter Aries — the first sign in the zodiac. This is typically a time of new beginnings and we have come to associate the Spring Equinox with a “fresh start.”

But for me it’s the Autumnal Equinox in Aries (the start of the astrological year), and for others it’s the Vernal Equinox in Aries. Hmmmmmm.

So in the Southern hemisphere, the astrological year is starting but we are getting ready for winter. Maybe this means we start thinking about our new plans NOW, and we’ll see them finally hatch at the end of the year (spring and summer).

In the north your new year starts with warmth and fiery Aries energy. Get ready to party.

Essential oils that help us prepare for cooler weather, bring us down from a hot summer, and also plant the seeds of ideas that will hatch in spring:

Mandarin – bring the happiness of summer into autumn, acknowledge the simple things in life

Basil – open the upper chakras to receive divine guidance through the darker months

Pine – give thanks for an abundant summer and the people in our lives who have helped us

Rosemary – increase circulation, stimulate the mind to remember what we had planned for this new season

Cardamom – get the energy flowing all around and through you

Jasmine – awaken your creativity and sensuality

Essential oils to help change our energy levels and get us moving, stimulate creativity and goal setting:

Frankincense – deep breathing, connection to spirit

Cedarwood Virginian – love what you do in everyday life and help the world evolve through these practices

Petitgrain – fresh new starts, pure potentiality

Juniper – shed old energy patterns and emotions to move forward

It is important to acknowledge and celebrate these planetary occurrences to help us stay connected to our land. Let’s love our planet, take care of it and each other. Let’s evolve – because it’s the only choice that seems relevant.

Using essential oils will help open your spirit through the elusive Limbic System in your brain. The scent of a natural oil can awaken divine intelligence within you, so go ahead and use any essential oil to expand your consciousness. We need you.

What Does Myrrh Essential Oil Have to Do with Steve Martin?

So yes, I’m quoting myself again, thanks for hanging in there with me. You know I’m right and that’s why you’re here, right now, reading this.

Kyphi – An Ancient Spiritual Incense

Kyphi is an incense or perfume made by Egyptian priests to honour the Gods. Here’s an exerpt from my book, Revelation! Reveal Your Destiny with Essential Oils;

“Kyphi has always fascinated me. Even the word makes my heart skip a beat. The word Kyphi is understood as the Greek interpretation of the Egyptian term kp.t. This is a holy incense created by the priests of Egypt – at least a few hundred years before the common era (BCE or BC), but possibly up to 4000 years ago.

Lists of ingredients were found in inscriptions at the Temples of Edfu and Dendera on the West Bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt. Even so, many different variations on the recipe of this sacred perfume are claimed to exist but most agree that the common ingredients were honey, raisins and wine. Some say it was made of 16 ingredients and others claim up to 36.

Honey, raisin, wine, cinnamon and/or cassia, frankincense, myrrh, juniper, cedarwood, cyperus root and sweet flag, mastic, amber, benzoin and labdanum (gums and resins), aspalathos, camel grass, mint and others may have contributed to it’s magical nature.

Plutach the Greek historian, biographer and essayist wrote about the preparation of Kyphi stating:

“these are compounded, not at random, but while sacred writingsare being read to the perfumers as they mix the ingredients”.

Mortar and pestle – so alchemical !

The priest held the intention of the prayers and sacred poems in their entire being as the perfume was mixed. This illustrates the power of intention at work in its finest form. The incense preparation was used as a temple offereingto the Gods so it was necessary to make it in a holy space with a complete energy of divinity. As the incense was burnt in the evening, the message to the Gods was pure.”

The use of the ingredients of Kyphi was methodical

I love that it was a very methodical procedure. When I make body oils or perfumes, and I’m using a standard recipe it is very important to me to make sure I add the oils in the same order they have been listed in on the recipe. It doesn’t seem like it would make a difference but it does!

When I first started studying aromatherapy my teacher had us all make the same body oil. Of course we all added the drops of the varying oils at different times, and guess what … yep each oil actually smelled different.

And you can understand why I always talk about intention when you are blending – even if you are just chucking oils into a vapouriser, have good thoughts, it will make a difference.

I’ve started my YouTube channel to try something new.

I’ve been writing 2 articles a week for just over 2 years, and sometimes it’s hard to find things to write about – especially now I have a book to promote too.

I’ve got a way to go with presenting style but I’d be grateful if you hang in there with me, as I talk about essential oils and aromatherapy.

This week I introduced myself – now you know what I look like (but after having said that I had just come from the hairdresser’s so it’s not always going to be that pretty)

2015! The Universal Number of 8!

Last year I wrote about the number 7 in regards to the numerology of 2014 – The Universal Number of 7! In this article I wrote about meeting a numerologist and apart from being totally wonderful and charming, she was very insistent I write about the number 7. So following on from that meeting lets see what’s in store for us next year.

In numerology the number 8 represents where we are in our journey, through the cycle of 1 to 9. So with 2015, equaling 8, we are almost at the end of the cycle.

I’ve always associated the number 8 with abundance and money, but the more I read about it the more I realise these are simplifications. There are many kinds of numerology out there and just as many interpretations, so what I can gather about the number 8 and our year in 2015 is:

* 8 is as much about karmic balance and the Law of Cause and effect than it is about money

* the energy of the infinity sign gives us strength and allows us to express our leadership qualities

* we are confident and fair to others

* we can access our personal power (without too much ego) which can not only help others but can also help us reap the benefits of the past 7 years of hard work

* we may have more abundance and money in our lives but it is less important to us than before

* the number 8 is about balance and a greater expression of money vs abundance

* if we are truly living up to the number 8 we can feel and express the need to help those around us

So what essential oils can we use to meld with the number 8?

– see the needs of the many are met through social awareness throughout the world

– feel your spirit rise within you and overflow to help those in need

If you are reading this article you are an integral part of healing the planet, our species and you are directly contributing to the evolution of humanity.

Have you ever hurt yourself, or seen another hurt themselves and are immediately stimulated to put your hands on the cut, bruise, graze or headache?

You are a healer. You are using a technique referred to as “hands-on-healing’, or Reiki among others. You don’t really need to go to a class or become qualified to use your healing powers (but sometimes it helps to hone skills).

Are you practicing peace in your environment?

You are a healer.

You are healing yourself and everyone else by connecting to the oneness of the universe. Please keep it up!

Please don’t give up or give in. Be mindful and expand your awareness. Expand your awareness and your consciousness expand.

Express your individuality and you will excite the building blocks of the universe to spring forth and do the bidding of those who see the truth.

You are a healer whether you know it or not. Practice the healing arts and you will command multidimensions with a single thought.

Have you ever heard the word dharma before? It is a Sanskrit word and it denotes, not only our jobs and work, but where we fit in the world and how we achieve our spirit’s desires.

To find your true place in the world start using essential oils. The practice of aromatherapy will help you open your upper chakras to divine intelligence, and allow you to fulfill your destiny (by giving you the confidence to move beyond your perceived limits).

If you are actually looking for a new job, add a few drops of essential oils to your job hunting exercises and allow your ego to step back. Add your intention and trust the perfect job is already there for you – just catch up to it!

This wonderful spice makes a beautiful essential oil, and although you may need to take care with the amounts you use (too much can harm the skin), don’t be afraid to take a whiff from the bottle, add it to your vapouriser, or put a couple of drops into an oil blend for your body.

Black pepper is all about taking action. it will help you gain courage to pursue your dreams!

So how do you spend your days? In a job you hate, desperate for each holiday, but you’re hanging in there because the money is good?

Or are you throwing away the demands and expectations of western society and pursuing your dreams, so in turn you may inspire others to do the same? This may sound selfish but in doing this you are adding another extra surge of energy to our evolution.

Petitgrain is also an oil of happiness as it helps relieve anxiety and tension. To me it is the promise of good things to come.

I’m excited to announce my first book has been published and is now available on Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, in a Kindle edition and paperback. Here’s the general vibe of what’s in between the covers. In the following weeks I’ll unveil a little more, and let you know some of the essential oils I use for all different parts of life.

This book really is all about the vibe of essential oils and their powerful energetic presence. When you use essential oils you are inviting scented information into your life. Not only is the scent of essential oils beautiful, but the information they carry can be life changing.

Rub oil into your body – it’s good!

Using oils on your physical body will no doubt bring about change. We know that essential oils are wonderful for releasing tension in the muscles, soothing dry skin, and generally making you feel soft and lovely. The body will absorb the oils into the blood stream and tissues and create gentle but subtle change. The body is matter and can be slow to respond but why not use essential oils rather than common skincare creams? Many creams and lotions contain toxic ingredients and are made in huge vats, packaged in plastic and have little life force energy.

We know essential oils work on the mind as when we smell the molecules, they travel straight into the brain to directly affect brain tissue and secondarily effect the production of hormones and moods. Why not be smelling a distilled plant that has medicinal and therapeutic qualities, rather than a synthetic fragrance? Be more mindful of your decisions and try to minimise the toxicity in your life. This also relates to toxic thoughts and practices too.

Essential oils can create colour and movement in your life

The most exciting way essential oils can work through us, is the way scent can travel through the spaces of the body and mind and into our souls. In this space of no time and no place, is where we access the divine knowledge of the universe. Using essential oils can change your focus away from matter into potentiality as they carry the secrets of the universe in their molecular structure. This is the key to revealing your true life purpose – using essential oils as a tool to open to your divinity, and to allow creativity to flow through you!

Supermoon Across The World and The Essential Oils that Add to It’s Power

Yep it’s been a supermoon frenzy all over the world with lots of amazing pictures of this gorgeous big round thing in the sky. The moon looks so beautiful and luminescent when it is close to the earth and it certainly has the power to get us talking about it. The perigree moon is the scientific name for the moon when it orbits close to the earth, and this full moon we have just experienced, is definitely the closest moon to the Earth this year. We are also in the middle of 3 supermoons in a row, with September being the next and last.

According to some scientific information, the supermoon plays on illusion, how our minds perceive the moon in the sky. One site says that even though we call it a supermoon, it is only about 14% closer that a regular full moon, but it appears much, much closer. Interesting eh? Is this telling us that our lives are an illusion and we must look deeper within to access the real reality? Or is it simply a reminder of the ebb and flow of the stars and the galaxies that we are intrinsically linked to?

In astrological terms this moon is in Aquarius, and I’ve also just read it’s an Aquarius/Leo full moon (as the sun is in Leo and provides the opposing force). As full moons are the culmination of the month, they can be seen as a time of releasing old patterns and energies, and with the supermoon it can be slightly magnified. Or perhaps it’s just an illusion that we are effected more strongly at this time? However you look at it, the supermoon is super gorgeous!
