Eucalyptus – A Three Word Buzz

Video

Hello natural beauties from far and wide. Eucalyptus is one of the more widely known essential oils, and is grown on many continents. China is one of the world’s biggest producers of eucalyptus oil and the European Economic Community are the largest importers of the oil. The Australian industry was the first to bring this stunning oil out into the world in the early to mid 1900’s and since then has continued, not only with oil production, but also the creation of many eucalyptus oil products.

There’s one thing for sure, eucalyptus oil has a distinct and powerful scent, and here are some Australian perfumers and “noses” to give you their 3 word buzz on this unique oil.

I’ve made my mum “smelling salts” and the main ingredient is rosemary. Just open a bottle and have a whff in the morning if you can’t wake up, or put a few drops in the bottom of the shower and have a whole body steam. This ancient herb oil has been with us for centuries which proves it’s hardiness and usefulness, even in today’s modern society. And it’s inexpensive, easy to find, and easy to grow if you have a bit of sun. For some recipes check out

Basil

Refreshing and uplifting, the scent of basil can be quite soft as well as pungent. Often described in aromatherapy terms as “cephalic” (pertaining to the head), it is an expansive oils as it works on your mind and your brain. What’s the diff between your mind and your brain? The brain is the organ which helps run the body performing amazing functions at a very small level. “The mind is the brain in action” says Dr Joe Dispenza the wonderful neuroscientist. The mind is multi-dimensional and allows us to understand, comprehend and evolve. Have a whiff of basil to open yourself to the intelligence of the universe, and help you wake up to do your everyday work and chores. Check out these recipes

How to Smell an Essential Oil

question-mark

Is there a correct way to smell an essential oil?

Well, I suppose the most important thing is to be careful if you’re a sensitive person.

Once you’ve had the experience of the essential oil you can probably be a bit more adventurous with how deep your inhalation is. Inhaling an essential oil can wake you up, stimulate your brain, and give you a wonderful burst of healing scent.

There’s a cute tip in here too – how to sample a blend of oils before you go ahead and scent your space or make a body oil blend. I might say “stunning” a few too many times …..

Thanks so much for watching lovey people.

Essential oils reflect the same holographic nature of the universe

Can you actually expand your awareness and consciousness with essential oils?

Answer: Yes

How?

Answer: Just start using them!

Really.

” The more you use essential oils the more comfortable you will feel about them.

The more at ease you are with these oils the more likely you will be to rely on your intuition.

The more you rely on your intuition, the stronger you will connect to your true self.

The more these connections are used the more confident you will become in your environment.

The better you feel about yourself in your world. the more you will be able to turn your true desires into your destiny, by allowing more of the real you to be revealed.

The more you live and breathe your true purpose in life, the more you will shine from within. Your light will become joy. When others benefit from your joy you are living your destiny, and acknowledging your true spiritual nature.”

An excerpt from the book Revelation! Reveal Your Destiny with Essential Oils, Suzanne R Banks.

love essential oils - they will love you back

love essential oils – they will love you back

So yes, I’m quoting myself again, thanks for hanging in there with me. You know I’m right and that’s why you’re here, right now, reading this.

There is a magical presence when you open a bottle of essential oil, as it travels through your brain to the ancient limbic system. Here your experience of the scent is translated across platforms into information that can be converted into memory, and connect us to elusive feelings of knowingness. We can use these newly created memories to tap into a higher intelligence – which is within us all the time – but just might need to be activated.

Essential oils are divinely scented tools to help us evolve into kinder human beings.

Ah the wonders of a universe vibrating in waves of potential!

10 Recipes with Basil Essential Oil – Ocimum basilicum

Beautiful aromatic basil

Beautiful aromatic basil

Basil is a herb from the Lamiacae family and the genus Ocimum, and has been flavouring our foods and healing us for centuries. It is a scent you won’t forget – green, herbabceous sweet and pungent. As an essential oil basil (sometimes referred to as sweet basil) is stimulating to the mind opening the upper chakras and giving the brain a cleansing, refreshing scent.

In aromatherapy basil oil is used –

* as a cephalic which means it stimulates the head in general so if used in small amounts it could help a headache. Some basil oils can be high in linalool oil which is present in large amounts in lavender.

* to ease stress and tension and calm mild anxiety (you may notice lots of essential oils are attributed to this use which shows that they can be easily used to help you relax – even if it’s just for a couple of minutes)

* as an anti-inflammatory agent for joint pain

There are many types of culinary basil but so far the winner in terms of essential oil production is this basil – sweet basil. When using this oil it can be tricky to get the proportions right because it’s so strong. Sometimes a drop is all you’ll need.

Let’s check out some recipes –

10 Recipes with Clary Sage Essential Oil – Salvia sclarea

10!

10!

I tend not to use Clary sage very often but maybe that’s just a phase I’m going through – I used it frequently when I was first introduced to essential oils. It belongs to the Lamiacae family and the genus Salvia. It is a strong sweet, heady oil with an herbaceous note. Clary sage is an expansive oil I consider it to be a very spiritual oil, as it relates well to the crown and third eye chakras. It seems to have the ability to open our conscious minds, and stimulate the subconscious to stir. I use Clary sage as a stimulus for the dream dimension – daydreams and night-time dreams, which can help shape our lives.

Looking back over the centuries it has been employed to help people over come depression and melancholy. Clary sage is an inspiring oil and has been to referred to as an  oil of euphoria. We can connect to the creativity of the universe too when we encounter Clary sage.

The essential oil is made from the flowering tops and the foliage

It is also powerful as an analgesic particularly in regards to period pain and I’ve used this oil with pregnant clients in preparation for labour and even in oil blends in a birthing suite. It also works well for symptoms of menopause.

Let’s check out some recipes –

1. Nourishing Body Oil Blend

For a coat of your body use 3 teaspoons of carrier oil in a little dish and, add 7 – 8 drops of essential oil.

3. Personal Aura Cleansing Mist

In a 50ml mist bottle filled with water add 25 drops of oil

(depending on the packaging you have, you may need to use a little alcohol -like vodka- at the bottom of your bottle first, so the oils disperse into smaller drops to prevent clogging the atomiser top. I’ve found sometimes it works just with water, and sometimes it doesn’t – very annoying!)

“Universal Consciousness”

Expand beyond your self-imposed limitations –

5 Essential Oils to Get You Started with Vigour in 2014

Happy shiny people - pic via www.breathezy.com

Happy shiny people – pic via http://www.breathezy.com

Christmas is over.

New Year celebrations are over. (Except we’ll be having another party for Chinese New year when we celebrate the year of the horse).

The year has started.

I’m lagging a bit behind and found it hard to drag myself out of bed this morning so looked to my trusty friends (my essential oils), to get me vibed up.

My last article 2014! The Universal Number of 7! was all about this year and its intrinsic number of truth. To seek the truth of your existence here on earth, you will need a bit of curiosity and of course some energy to keep you going. Some essential oils will open your mind and stimulate the frontal cortex, and other essential oils will give you body a bit of a kick start.

Flowering rosemary

Flowering rosemary

1. Rosemary

Stimulate your mind with rosemary. Remember with rosemary. Study with rosemary, warm your body up and help sore muscles release tightness. It is an easily accessible and inexpensive oil with a long history of medicinal uses.

2. Lavender

Lavender will always be on every list of oils I create. It is a relaxing oil but also an oil of solidarity and bringing your energy together. It’s the stalwart – loyal, reliable and hard working.

Lavender can ground your energy, help induce a state of calm, help with pain relief and generally be a medicinal oil of great standing.

Black pepper

Black pepper

Black pepper

Forward ho! Black pepper is the spice that can warm your heart, open your mind and also be a warming tonic to your body. It is a great oil for finding your dharma and taking your unique brand of evolutionary energy into the world. Even though the spice itself is quite piquant, the essential oil of black pepper has a magical sweetness about it.

Lemongrass

I think this oil may be one of the most loved oils in the world. It has so many uses but I’ll always use this oil for a client who is lacking energy. It’s lemon scented goodness is backed up with a deep grassy green scent that represents freedom to me.

Need physical energy? Use lemongrass!

Basil

Basil

Basil

Oh you just can’t keep a good herb down! The herbs are so wonderful for healing and have been used for centuries. Basil is an oil for opening your mind and stimulating your brain. It is expansive and great for maintaining fluid thought and allowing universal intelligence to come through your crown chakra. Basil is for clarity and can be used on your body like lavender, as it has a high content of linalool which is an active ingredient in lavender.

How can you use these oils to stimulate your energy?

* try taking a whiff straight from the bottle

* put a few drops in the bottom of the shower (cover the drain for a minute with your foot or a cloth) and inhale

* make an oil blend for your body – for a coat of your body use 3 teaspoons of carrier oil in a little dish and, add 7 – 8 drops of essential oil and see my articles “Ratios for Blending Essential Oils – A Reminder of the Basics” and  “Aromatherapy – It’s Easy as 1 2 3”.

* it will be best to use a combination of oils rather than just 7 drops of the one oil as, for example,  black pepper is slightly sensitising and could be too strong for some people

* as a hint, use lavender and a citrus oil to one of the oils above to make a lovely blend

Happy blending and remember to use your intention when you are creating your formulas. See my article about intention.
