Nourishing Body Oil

For a coat of your body use 3 teaspoons of carrier oil in a little dish and, add 7 – 8 drops of essential oil. It’s always best to patch test first, before you apply all over.

***** Always put the drops of essential oil into the bottle or dish first, then add the carrier oil. It gives the scents time to create a synergistic fusion.

For a 50ml bottle of oil add 25 drops and see my articles “Ratios for Blending Essential Oils – A Reminder of the Basics” and “Aromatherapy – It’s Easy as 1 2 3”

Soak in a bath

I don’t often recommend adding too many essential oils to a bath as they are difficult to disperse and can cause minor skin irritations when combined with the heat of the water. If you do like to use them in a bath, try 4 -6 drops in total and add the drops to another medium like sea salt, coconut milk, other milks or a water dispersible agent.

Add a few rose petals too:

“A Rose is a Rose is a Rose”

rose 3%                      6 drops

rosewood                   1 drop

palmarosa                   1 drop

rose geranium             1 drop

Essential Oils in Pregnancy and Childbirth – Video

Video

Hello natural beauties everywhere. I did the live Q & A with The Mothership International on Facebook last Friday (November 11 2016). It was challenging as no one asked a question – I’m glad I prepared some notes. So I talked to the reflection of myself for about an hour and you can check it out here today. It was good to do something I haven’t done before, to challenge myself and create new brain synapses by learning something new.

* taking the toxic chemicals out of your life

* the facts about essential oils in pregnancy

* the myths – if any?

* using your intuition

* seeking advice

* making aromatherapy easy

And in relation to pregnancy and childbirth (and perhaps more specifically):

* 1st trimester

* 2nd trimester

* 3rd trimester

* preparing for birth

* at the birth

* after the birth

I hope you gain some insight from this talk and please pass it on to anyone you know who may be interested.

Did you use essential oils through your pregnancy?

Hi natural beauties and scent lovers everywhere, I’ve been wondering what to write about this week as I’ve felt so tired. Exhausted actually. 10 Recipes for Your Essential Oil Diffuser

Hello authentic humans! I’ve just turned on my vapouriser and somehow I’m still surprised after 20 years that it makes such a glorious difference in the home, or office – any space really. Here’s a few recipes to embrace the new season and expand your consciousness too, with a few drops of essential oil ….

*************************************************************************************************************

Please check out my new book REVELATION! – Reveal Your Destiny with Essential Oils

Barnes & Noble      Booktopia AU      Amazon UK

**************************************************************************************************************

A diffuser or vapouriser is a motorized machine to disperse essential oils throughout your space. There are so many wonderful designs now that it can be fun to have a few to choose from – hey some vapourisers may you suit your mood better than others, and even the recipe you’ve decided to use too. Some are colourful and have LED light displays, some are wood or bamboo and add a more natural vibe.

Diffusing essential oils is a great way to relieve stress, calm children and pets, and beautify your home.

To Scent Your Space, my ratio has always been:

In a traditional oil burner with a candle or a diffuser add 25 drops of oil.

However many diffusers say to only use a few drops, so use your intuition and see how you go with your own diffuser, how long it lasts, and whether you want to use more or less next time. If you are using a traditional vapaouriser with candle (often referred to as a “burner”), then 25 drops is a good ratio as it takes a lot longer for the oils to disperse.

10 Recipes with Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil – Cedrus atlantica

Hello natural scent lovers. It’s been a while since I’ve done a “10 Recipes” post and this gorgeous cedarwood is next on the list. This is a true cedarwood, unlike the more common cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana), which as you can probably tell, is a juniper. Lets get into some recipes ….

Atlantic cedar

Atlantic cedar

Cedarwood is a great oil that blends well with so many others. As a wood oil it is considered a ‘base’ and in this way can anchor a blend, and help lighter oils from flying away too quickly.

In aromatherapy cedarwood is used:

  • as an astringent for oily skin
  • as a hair and skin tonic
  • for stress relief

I use it for the above and also as an oil of abundance. Yesterday I used it with a client who was quite tired and it helped her relax and get back to her base energy levels, rather than running on Adrenalin and stress. It was very comforting too.

Mix one or two drops of essential oil in one teaspoon of carrier oil. You can warm the oil slightly first if desired – it will be very relaxing! Massage your face and rest for 10 minutes. You can also place a cool or warm wet face cloth on your face as a compress over the oil mask. Remove excess oil with a tissue or cloth if necessary.

Use 2 cups of fine sea salt, add some unperformed lotion, or some carrier oil, mix into a paste and then add your essential oils (only a few drops). You’re ready to scrub under the shower or in the bath, but remember to be gentle! If you use the scrub while standing in the bath you can then soak in the salt and oils too. Essential Oils and Their Keywords – Part 1

Essential oils tend to be grouped together as to their physical healing properties – but what about the way they treat our spirit and minds too? For example marjoram, lavender and rosemary are great for muscles; rose, geranium and patchouli are wonderful for skin health; fennel and juniper can help relieve joint swelling. Of course essential oils often have more than one quality and the art of aromatherapy allows synergistic combinations to be formulated to expand their individual powers. Read on to discover how I feel about some of my favourite oils.

10 Recipes with Lime Essential Oil – Citrus aurantifolia

Beautiful lime oil is an interesting citrus oil with depth and even a little spice. What is lime’s secret?

Lime oil has more depth than the other citrus oils

Lime oil has more depth than the other citrus oils

“Lime (Citrus aurantifolia)

counteracts negative thinking

Lime is better used in diffuser and mists rather than on the body. Lime is one of the heavier citrus oils and I feel it hides a deep, magical secret, but I’m not quite sure what that secret is. It has less classical uses than lemon but when I use this oil on my clients I can see its ability to influence and counter-act negative thinking. Don’t give away your energy to negative thoughts, feelings or situations otherwise you wont have anything left for your own happiness. Use lime instead.”

Suzanne R Banks “Revelation! Reveal Your Destiny with Essential Oils”

Beer and lime!

Beer and lime!

So while beer with a wedge of lime is lovely, what can lime oil be used for?

* According to Salvatore Battaglia (who has written a great text-book on essential oils “The Complete guide to Aromatherapy), lime is great for sore throats due to its anti-microbial nature. However, all oils have anti bacterial qualities as they are the protectors of each plant they come from.

* Lime is used to help with depression – as with all the citrus oils. They are oils of happiness.

* It could be used in a body oil blend as a digestive tonic

* In a mild dilution it can help oily skin and hair as it acts as an astringent.

5 Essential Oils to Help You Love Your Job

hearts to you

hearts to you for what you do

Believe it or not, some people work in jobs they don’t really like, let alone LOVE.

Are you someone who is discontent with what you do on a daily basis?

Or are you someone who sorta-kinda thinks their job is ok, but really you rather be doing something else?

I’m going to assume we’d all rather be on holidays forever (and that we probably can’t get that happening) and that you do have a job, and you’d like to make the daily grind less of a daily grind. Essential oils won’t be able to go out into the world for you and find the perfect job, but they can help you feel better about yourself and where you are in your life.

orange – it’s a great food AND oil!

1.Orange

Orange oil is made from the rind of oranges. It is the perfect oil to help bring a little happiness and sweetness into your life. And just look at that colour! Oranges vibrate with a bright fresh energy, and the oil is all about innocence and simplicity.

Can you find ONE good thing about your job? It can be anything from liking the biscuits they provide to getting your pay.

Put a few drops of orange oil into the bottom of the shower in the morning, cover the drain with your foot or cloth, breathe deeply, smile. Carry this smile with you during the day.

2. Frankincense

Frankincense is the oil of breathing deeply, which means a less stressful approach to the day and a deeper connection to your spirit. By taking a big whiff of Frankincense before you head out the door in the morning, you reinforce a calm state of mind and of body too.

The more oxygen you can take into your body the better you can cope at work, and the more easily adaptable you will be to problem solving. When your attitude is calm, your day at work will be better and easier to like.

3. Pine

Inspirational, fresh and clean, pine essential oil will help you acknowledge others around you and how they can bring positive vibes to your work day. If you are surrounded by people you don’t really understand or like, pine oil is the oil for you. Your job brings you abundance in the form of money – but what other aspects of abundance can you identify at work? Open you mind to find new things you are thankful for in this job. Just try, even if it might be difficult.

Take a drop of pine essential oil on a cotton pad in your pocket. It will remind you to FEEL abundant, and who knows what can happen from this new state of being?

4. Cinnamon

This lively spice oil will sweeten your day. Cinnamon speaks to the our dharma and is the oil for really loving what you do. It may just help you look within to move from a job you dislike to a new position or a new company. Open to your destiny by asking yourself “what do I love?” I know sometimes it’s not easy to actually contemplate changing jobs, especially if other people rely on you and the money it brings, however take a whiff of cinnamon to invoke happiness and perhaps even a little courage. It IS important to love what you do and for right now, just use cinnamon and see what it brings.

Wh!at a gorgeous flower

What a gorgeous flower – Ylang Ylang

5. Ylang Ylang

This amazing flower makes a deep, exotic floral oil, which is great for skin and also for releasing anger and frustration. It’s base note qualities appeal to both men and women and I recommend a drop or two, diluted in some carrier oil, on your wrists and heart. This action will help you draw the divine energy of forgiveness into your heart so when you step into work, your attitude will be a little softer.

Ylang ylang is also an oil of sensuality, and when you’re feeling good about yourself, it makes it easier to feel better about your circumstances.

**** Essential oils won’t cure an illness or be a complete solution to every problem; however they will help you change your focus and in turn look at the world in a different light.

Remember to treat yourself first, then everyone will benefit.
