10 Essential Oil Blends for the Diffuser and Deep Relaxation

Hello natural beauties! I’m feeling very relaxed right now as I’ve just spent 3 days with Dr Brian Weiss, participating in a past life regression workshop called “Many Lives, Many Masters”. This is also the title of his best-selling book and is a great read if you’re interested in past lives. I thought it might be a good idea to share some of my favourite soothing calming blends for relaxation, meditation and opening your intuition by looking within.

Double Happiness – A New Botanical Perfume by banks botanicals

Hello natural scent lovers from far and wide. I’m excited to launch my new range of botanical perfumes! The range, called REVELATION, corresponds with my book of the same name. “Happiness is a state of being. Often people never find this wonderful state of harmony because they are waiting for external forces to help them out.

Make a decision in your heart and mind to be happy, independent of the daily ups and downs, independent of what material possession you have, and independent of what others think”

Suzanne R Banks

“Revelation! Reveal Your Destiny with Essential Oils”

“Using essential oils is a great way to inspire happiness especially citrus oils, which have a light and tangy scent.

Just one sniff of an oil can give you a boost of instant joy.

The energetic effect will trickle down into the quiet space inside you, so you almost become the oil itself, radiating the essence of Mother Nature.”

Me. I’m quoting myself again…

Soak in a bath

I don’t often recommend adding too many essential oils to a bath as they are difficult to disperse and can cause minor skin irritations when combined with the heat of the water. If you do like to use them in a bath, try 4 -6 drops in total and add the drops to another medium like sea salt, coconut milk, other milks or a water dispersible agent.

Add a few rose petals too:

“A Rose is a Rose is a Rose”

FESTIVUS 2016! Aromatic Insights into the Best Holiday in the World!

Hi gorgoues people. I’m not ashamed to say that this is a reblog from last year – gotta take a short cut once in a while …….

Festivus is here again and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve created some new recipes to stand alongside the key parts to this wonderful day. What is Festivus you may ask? It’s the holiday that crushes Hanukkah and Christmas, allows a coming together of like minds, and gives a day of fun for those who are not religious. Celebrated by George Costanza’s father, Frank, (from the comedy show Seinfeld), let’s embrace this fabulous celebration!

To be more precise it’s the family of the writer of this episode who created Festivus:

Festivus was conceived by editor and author Daniel O’Keefe and was celebrated by his family as early as 1966. In the original O’Keefe tradition, the holiday would take place in response to family tension, “any time from December to May”.] The phrase, “a Festivus for the rest of us”, also derived from an O’Keefe family event, the death of Daniel O’Keefe’s mother.

The Festivus Pole replaces the Christmas tree and stands unadorned:

“Frank Costanza cites its “very high strength-to-weight ratio” as appealing. During Festivus, the pole is displayed unadorned. According to Frank, “I find tinsel distracting.”

Essential Oils and their Keywords – Part 2

Essential oils tend to be grouped together as to their physical healing properties – but what about the way they treat our spirit and minds too? For example marjoram, lavender and rosemary are great for muscles; rose, geranium and patchouli are wonderful for skin health; fennel and juniper can help relieve joint swelling. Of course essential oils often have more than one quality and the art of aromatherapy allows synergistic combinations to be formulated to expand their individual powers. Read on to discover how I feel about some of my favourite oils.

10 Recipes with Mandarin Essential Oil – Citrus reticulata

Mandarins are colourful, tasty and smell wonderful!

Mandarins are colourful, tasty and smell wonderful!

Oh the lovely scent of mandarin could make anyone happy! I rate all the citrus oils as happiness oils as they’re so fresh and light and zingy and sparkly.

Mandarin essential oil is different to orange oil, just as the fruit is different. It is a deeper, more red colour than orange oil, which can vary from light orange to yellow. The deepness of the colour adds to the unique properties of mandarin oil as red connects us with the base chakra, which is all about survival and all the necessities to live. When taking in this information and combining it with the mouth watering scent of the fruit, mandarin essential oil can open our minds to the big concepts of the universe.

In aromatherapy mandarin oil does not have a lot of therapeutic uses but can be used for –

* improving digestion (by using externally not internally, or drinking tea made with the rind)

* alleviating stress and improving relaxation

* counteracting stretch marks in pregnancy

I use it to connect us to the simple – yet huge – concepts of how the universe works.

Let’s get into some recipes –
